ゆっくり歩いても15分くらいで一周できる広さです。大木といくつかの庵があるとても落ち着いた空間で、梅や桜と思われる木も多かったので、花の季節はとても綺麗なのではと思います。建物の裏側なので、午後は日陰となり少し肌寒いですが、人も少なく散歩の穴場スポット。
 I stopped by because there was a little time until the reservation time.
Even if you walk slowly, you can go around in about 15 minutes. It was a very calm space with a large tree and some hermitages, and there were many trees that seemed to be plums and cherry blossoms, so I think the flower season is very beautiful. It's behind the building, so it's a little chilly in the afternoon because it's shaded, but there aren't many people and it's a little-known spot for a walk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ JR上野駅公園口から東京国立博物館庭園に向かいました。
途中、国立科学博物館裏の「ラムダロケット用ランチャ」を左手に見て、その先を左に曲がると、直ぐ右手に「寛永寺旧本坊表門」が見えます。その先の左側に「国立科学博物館 地球館」の屋外展示の「シロナガスクジラ実物大模型」が見えてきます。更に、竹の台広場（噴水広場）が左手に見え、道を挟んだ右側が東京国立博物館です。
70才以上は無料で入館できますが、今回展示されていた、特別展「空也上人と六波羅蜜寺」は別途有料となります。敷地内に入り、博物館左側（西側）に沿って奥に進み、平成館の右手に進むと国立博物館庭園の入口となります。
庭園には、まだサクラの花が残っており、池には多くの花びらが漂っていました。池の周辺には、5棟の茶室が配置された10分程度で回れる静かな庭園でした。
また、上野公園周辺には、上野の森美術館、東京都美術館、国立西洋美術館、東京芸術大学大学美術館、また、国立科学博物館、今回訪問した東京国立博物館等があり、多くの文化施設エリアとなっています。
庭園散策後、「寛永寺」に寄ってから、上野桜木バス停から奧浅草に向かいました。
