★ ★ ★ ★ ★ （えんめいじ）伊豆横道三十三観音、1番札所です。臨済宗、建長寺派のお寺です。寺院は仁科川対岸の東福寺が管理しています。1466年(文正元年)創建。「東海山」の扁額は白隠禅師による。1466年に村人が建てた小堂が始まり。その後、宝山珍公禅師が臨済宗の寺として開山したと言われている。札所は３００ｍ程離れた場所にある滝見観音堂で、聖観世音菩薩が奉安されている。昔は８月１７日に大祭が行われていて、そこで出会った男女が結ばれるという事で「縁結びの観音さん」とも呼ばれていた。

Founded in 1466. The amount of money for "Tokaisan" is by Hakuin Hakuto. Kodo that villager built in 1466 begins. He is said to have opened as a temple in Rinzai during the period. A fancy place is about 300 meters away at Takimi Kannon-do, where the Seikan Seinonsu is enshrined. In the old days, the festival was held on August 17th, and it was also called "Kannon-san," because the men and women who met there were tied.
