さくら草はまだ時期が早かったようで、ところどころでしか開花していませんでしたが、それでも、ピンク色のかわいい花が目を楽しませてくれました。
会場は、スタッフによる戸田ヶ原の自然や歴史のツアーガイドが行われていました。
また、ゆるキャラがショーを行ったり、スタンプラリーや、かるたゲームが開催されていて、子ども達が喜んでいました。
戸田ヶ原は江戸時代からさくら草の名所として有名で、明治時代の鉄道開通で、交通の便が良くなると、さくら草を摘みにくる人が増えて、大正時代には数が激減して、昭和22年には消滅してしまいました。
戸田市では、戸田のふるさとの風景である戸田ヶ原を取り戻そうと、2007年から自然再生に取り組んでいます。2010年2月に、彩湖・道満グリーンパーク内に「戸田ヶ原自然再生エリア第1号」をつくってさくら草の復活事業を継続しています。

Toda City has been working to restore nature since 2007 to restore Todagara, the landscape of Toda's hometown. In February 2010, we created the first Todagahara Nature Restoration Area in Saiko/Doman Green Park, and are continuing the business of reviving cherry grass.
