The staff seemed so afraid to interact with people at times, (moreso foreigners sad to say) but even with limited Japanese to ask, Where do I buy a Ticket, How much is the Ticket, where is the Entrance, and other simple question, they broke down and didn't know how to answer me. For main exhibitions, entrances and exits are clearly marked, but for other smaller galleries, they don't mark the starting entry point so it causes smaller mixups of walking thru exits and the staff becoming upset. The exhibitions themselves are not bad and I enjoyed the opportunity to see some of them, but staff made it very inconvenient. I even had to help another Japanese Man find the exhibit he was looking for. Please get yourself together Staff, and if you are going to use English, please practice more. So much of it was confusing that I kept trying them to use Japanese and explain it slowly because I could actually understand... Exhibit gives the extra star but the staff killed the experience a bit. Crowded on Weekdays, lots of clustering without concern of Covid. Measure are in effect but in Exhibitions, staff doesn't care.

Beautiful architecture in the building, plenty of art exhibits to tour, featured artists understandably cost a separate ticket to enter.

One of the scene from the famous hit movie in japan, “Your name” is taken at this museum. There are a cafe at each floor. Also, there’s an art library at the third floor. Mainly in Japanese. Reviewed this at 2018. Now here’s the new one. Still classy. Elegant. And photogenic! I recommend you for the visit. But because of the coronavirus pandemic, there’s some time changed for its opening time. So just have to pay some attention.

Today was a 5 college exhibit, and it was fantastico. I ran out of time to see everything though. Such art, such architecture, such strange chairs!

Came to see the Damien Hirst exhibition. The art center is a fantastic space that is free to enter. Relax with a coffee and then enjoy a little art.

Went to see the special exhibition of Damien Hirst. The building has an amazing design (including somewhere that was included in ‘Your name’ movie), and the exhibition itself was greatly put into place. Probably going again before it’s over.

I attended a special exhibit from the Metropolitan Museum of New York at the National Art Center Tokyo. There were a total of 65 paintings displayed including those by some of the most famous artists in history. As expected, it was a nice exhibit. I was more impressed though not by a painting but by the building itself. The building was designed by Kisho Kurosawa who first came to fame with his futuristic Nakagin capsule building in 1972. The green wavelike façade evokes feelings of nature. The atrium features a ceiling of over eighty feet high making it feel extremely spacious. If you like amazing architecture, this is a place you don’t want to miss.
