In the 13th year of the Tensho era, Sakamoto Castle was moved to this place and renamed Otsu Castle. This became the Shinomiya Festival on October 10th (formerly September 10th), and according to records, the Hikiyama Festival started during the Keicho era, increased in number as the city's developing population increased, and the current town name was roughly established during the Genroku year. , A graceful patrol by two portable shrines and fourteen Hikiyama, which is reminiscent of the Gion Association in Kyoto, has come to be performed.
