★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 天明家は代々、鵜の木村（現在の大田区）で村役人の年寄り役を務めたと伝えられる旧家です。ここに移築したのは約１万m2の広大な敷地内にあった庭園を含む母屋と長屋門、飼葉小屋です。正面に千鳥破風を持つことを象徴する広い母屋には署員を始め、各所で増改築が施されています。また、長屋門という側面に部屋を持つ門、署員前の枯山水、農作業などに使用された母屋前の広い庭などから豪農としての高い格式が伺えます。
建築時期は江戸時代後期とみられています。
The Tenmei family is an old family reportedly serving as an old villager in Kashiwagi Village (current Ota Ward) for generations. Relocated here are the main house, garden gate, and fodder hut, including a garden on a vast site of about 10,000 m2. A large main house symbolizing having a staggered breeze in front of the house has been expanded and renovated in various places, including a clerk. In addition, you can see high quality as a farmer from the gate with a room on the side of Nagaya, the dry mountain water in front of the bureau, and the large garden in front of the main building used for farm work.
The construction period is considered to be the late Edo period.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 農家と書かれてある割にずいぶん立派で、民家という感じではないと思いましたが、いわゆる豪農で、鎌倉時代からさかのぼって代々名手をつとめてきた由緒正しいお宅だとか。まんが日本昔話とかに出てくる長者のお屋敷ってこんな感じだよなという造りです。書院の間や飼い葉小屋等もあって豊かな暮らしぶりがうかがえます。

正面玄関に式台、屋根に千鳥破風をもつなど、武家屋敷を思わせる造りの木造平屋建て、寄棟造りの茅葺構造で、主屋を中心に飼葉小屋、入口に長屋門が建てられており、建物の配置は当時のままで移築されている。
