★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 中山道の途中で地元の方にぜひ見て行ってと教えていただき寄りました。苔の生した参道の美しさにびっくりしました。中山道の旧道からは少し寄り道になりますが一見の価値ありだと思います。
On the way of the Nakasendo, I was told by a local person that I would definitely like to see it. I was surprised at the beauty of the approach where the moss grew. It's a little detour from the old Nakasendo, but I think it's worth a look.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 旧中山道を南に向かい、諏訪大社下社春宮の脇で南東方向に曲がってから200メートルほどで「竜の口」の石段にいたります。
竜の口とは、道の北側斜面から湧き出る水の注ぎ口となっている竜の頭の彫像を意味します。江戸時代の文政年間に石工、山田金右エ門がつくったと伝えられています。
街道脇にあって竜の口から流れ出る清冽な清水は、中山道を往く旅人の喉を潤したことでしょう。
ここは禅寺、白華山慈雲寺へ登る参道の石段の登り口で「大門口」と呼ばれる場所です。
今残っている高麗門はさほどに大きな門ではないので、その昔には大門と呼ばれた大きな門――慈雲寺の楼門に匹敵するほどの――があったのではないかと、私は勝手に想像しています。
慈雲寺は鎌倉時代に創建された臨済宗の禅寺です。その頃、諏訪大社下社春宮を采配する大祝金指の家門は、近隣一帯の領地を守るために武士団を形成していったといわれています。
そういう背景から、金指一族は春宮の鬼門にあたる北東側に、武士の宗教でもあった禅宗・臨済宗の寺院を創建しました。諏訪大社春宮を構成する寺院、慈雲寺は信州でも最も有力な禅寺となりました。
してみると、この大門口・竜の口の石段参道は、春宮と結びついた歴史景観ならびに自然景観のひとつと位置づけて歩いてみるべきでしょう。
この参道をゆっくり登りながら、傍らに立つ数えきれないほど多くの石塔や石碑を眺めるのてみませんか。
Head south on the old Nakasendo, turn southeast at the side of Suwa Taisha Shimosha Harumiya, and about 200 meters you will reach the stone steps of "Ryu no Mouth".
The dragon's mouth is a statue of the dragon's head that serves as a spout for water that springs from the northern slopes of the road. It is said that the mason, Kintetsu Yamada, made it during the Bunsei era of the Edo period.
The clear fresh water that flows from the mouth of the dragon on the side of the highway will have moistened the throat of travelers traveling on the Nakasendo.
This is the entrance to the stone steps on the approach to Zen Temple and Hakukasan Jiyunji Temple, and is called the "Daimonguchi".
The remaining Koraimon gate is not so big, so I wondered if there was a big gate called Daimon in the old days-comparable to the tower gate of Jiyunji Temple. I'm imagining.
Jiyunji is a Zen temple of the Rinzai sect that was built in the Kamakura period. At that time, it is said that the family gate of the Great Celebration Finger, which controls the Suwa Taisha Shrine Harumiya, formed a samurai corps to protect the territory of the neighboring area.
Against this background, the Kanasashi clan built a temple of the Zen sect and Rinzai sect, which was also a samurai religion, on the northeast side of the demon gate of Harumiya. Jiunji, the temple that makes up Suwa Taisha Harumiya, has become the most influential Zen temple in Shinshu.
If you try, you should consider this Daimonguchi / Ryuguchi stone stairway approach as one of the historical and natural landscapes linked to Harumiya.
