民家の横を歩くと登山口が有ります。
登山口周辺は梅の木が植えられてます。
長尾登山口から高御位山頂上まで約50分ですが、体力ある方なら30分です。途中、ベンチや急な岩場有ります。急な岩場については巻道がありますので初心者や小さな子供は巻道を利用しましょう。
また、岩場は滑りやすいので下りは慎重に❢

近くに駐車場もあり比較的訪問しやすいルートだと思われます。
駐車台数は三十台程であまり停められませんが白線などはないので任意で駐車スペースを融通し合う駐車をオススメします。
長尾登山口までは民家の間を少し通り抜けて高御位山の山頂まで50分の案内板があり畑の裏側にある竹林が入り口になります。
こちらの登山道は最初は林を抜け、あとは岩場をひたすら登ります。
途中から木々がほとんどないので低い標高でも開けた景色が見られます。
鉄塔を過ぎだ付近に椅子付きのテーブルが二ヵ所あります。
志方の鳴井登山道とは違い整備はほぼされておりません。
中腹辺りにかなり急な岩場がありロープが垂れ下がってます。
恐らく長尾ルートの最難所だと思います。
そこからは山頂まで比較的勾配も急になります。
かなり滑りやすくなっているので足元には充分注意してください(特に下り坂)
小さな子供連れで高御位山の登山を予定されているのでしたら私は志方側の鳴井登山道をオススメします。
麓から見える大きな反射板までたどり着けばほぼほぼゴールで少し進むと神社のある山頂です。
