According to Hideyoshi Toyotomi in 1590, "Odawara Seiki" was held by Mr. Hojo's vassal, Jyuemon Takahata, who fought against the Hideyoshi army. The ruins of the castle are located on the back mountain of Takahata Fudoson, which is also known as the temple of Toshizo Hijikata, the Bodhi temple of the Shinsengumi.

At the top of Fudogaoka, the mountain behind Takahata Fudoson, there is the remains of the main building of Takahata Castle. The mountain covered with deep forest has a height difference more than it looks on a steep slope, and you can see the fortress at that time. It is said to be the residence of Jubei Takahashi, a vassal of Mr. Hojo, but it is a castle ruin with few materials and many unclear points. There are three walls on the top of a small plateau, and it is currently in a grove, but the view must have been good at that time because there is an observatory nearby. There were many castles in the hills of Tama. There are Hirayama Castle, Takiyama Castle, Hachioji Castle, etc. near here. All of the castles are now abandoned, but what did the castle owners see, feel, and think about each other's castles? There are 88 pilgrimage sites in Shikoku in Yamauchi, and many tourists are not pilgrims, but not many people come to the ruins of this castle. In the tranquility, the wind blowing with the chirping of wild birds was comfortable.

Takahata Castle is owned by Takahata Juemon, one of the seven Musashi parties, and here at Kongoji Temple, Yamanouchi Uesugi's ancestor. At the place where Uesugi Noriaki fought and was injured during the Bubaigawara battle with Koga Koga and Shigeuji Ashikaga. Here, Takahata Castle seems to be the castle of Mr. Taira Koma. I will.

Since there are not many materials, I will preface if there is no accurate theory. It is said that Takahata Castle was the place where Noriaki Uesugi, who was also in the Kanto region, was defeated by Mr. Ashikaga Shigeuji of the Kanto government during the first Battle of Tachikawahara in 1455. .. Also, during the Second Battle of Tachikawahara (Battle of the Tama River) in 1504, this Takahata Castle served as a base during the battle between the Allied Forces of Asayoshi Uesugi, Imagawa Ujichika, and Hojo Soun and the Allied Forces of Uesugi Akisada and Ashikaga Masauji. Was used. And most likely, this is a military commander named Daigakunosuke, who was under the control of Hojo Ujiteru, the head of the Hojo clan, who was based in Odawara Castle in Sagami Province during the Warring States period. There is a theory that he was acquainted with the Takahata area (= territory). access A 15-minute walk from Takahatafudo Station on the Keio Line in the direction of Takahatafudoson. In the Takahata Fudoson precincts, in the Tama Hills Natural Park. A 20-minute walk in the direction of Takahatafudoson from Takahatafudo Station on the Tama City Monorail.
The signboard says "Takahata Castle Ruins". When I went around 88 places, it was at the top. There was a castle in such a place. Well, if you think about it for a moment, you can see the surroundings at a reasonable height, which is convincing. The altitude is about 120m. The lower bound is about 70m above sea level, so the difference is about 50m. You can see the direction from Tachikawa to Kokubunji.

The ruins of the castle are located just behind Takahata Fudoson. As for the remains, only a shallow Horikiri can be seen.

The owner of the castle and the year of construction are unknown. The main castle owner is Mr. Takahata. Probably a story ... From the latter half of the Heian period to the Kamakura period, I think that a landlord who used this place as a territory, Takahata, began to call himself Takahata and built a mountain castle. The first castle construction pattern around here is almost like this. Then, in the later era, Mr. Uesugi Ogigayatsu or Koga Kubō used it as it was, or had a fight ... And in the subsequent era, it was like a branch castle of the Odawara Hojo clan or ... a castle. It seems like Toyotomi Hideyoshi was attacked by Odawara and then abandoned. I don't know. Well ... Is it the royal road pattern of Yamashiro in Bando? There seems to be almost no record about the castle. By the way, the back mountain of Takahatafudo is Shiroyama. Eighty-eight Jizo statues are standing along the road of Yamashiro, and the same benefits as those of the eighteen pilgrimages in Shikoku are obtained. The viewing platform that climbed from the 29th Jizo-sama is like Ninomaru and Honmaru. I don't think it's bad. Pilgrimage can also be done.
