★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 由緒不詳であるが、安永5年書き上げの深谷風土記に「右神社ハ八幡太郎義家公御勧請之由申伝候先年ヨリ三面刈屋敷庄右衛門庄兵衛屋敷利惣治右三人順番ニテ祭仕来リ当安永5年まで八百有余年ニ罷在候」云々とある。
真疑は別として、古い時代から武神として名高い神で、また狩猟の御神徳があり、山を持つ当地に祀られたことには意味がある。
無格社であったが、昭和27年に宗教法人神社本庁所属の登記神社となる。
昭和62年2月7日、不審火により社殿を全焼したが、同年10月に再建した。
平成2年10月に御即位礼を奉祝し、当社の御神格を高めるために同年10月26日、信濃国一之宮諏訪大社（旧官幣大社）上社本宮より、御分霊を拝戴して勧請されました。
