Best Sushi restaurant in japan

A	Andrew Betts on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Reasonably good value and tasty sushi, fairly ordinary but competent. Only distinguishing feature is that the owner, obsessed with the Beatles, plays their back catalogue continuously.
J	Jonathan Burton on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tl;dr Low price can't make up for poor quality meal. Had my fair share of sushi over the years and unfortunately this establishment sits at the bottom. We asked for sushi selections and miso with seaweed. We like to do this because you get a range of items and we don't have to think too much. The selection consisted of a sushi roll and nigiri and was served carefully organized on the plate. The sushi roll contained a pink(?) fish that contained so little flavor that we couldn't determine what it was. Well rolled, but definitely some of the smaller rolls I've had. With the nigiri, the texture _was_ good, and broke pleasingly with a bite. However, they too had very little flavor. To make it worse, some had far too much wasabi, after one piece I think I saw stars. This was true for every piece we had except one white fish. ( Very forgetful when it comes to the white fish so can't give a name ) Finally, I attempted to eat the squid nigiri. I say "attempted" because I've never had such a tough and slimy piece of seafood and as such deposited the item into a napkin rather than swallow it. The miso was fine, if a little too full of seaweed for my taste. In all, a disappointing meal. The only consolation is that we paid just 2000 jpy each. Maybe the low price should have been a warning sign, but some of our best meals in Japan have been super cheap and not well rated on Google. The cynic in me thinks that as selection ordering tourists we got the bits they wouldn't serve to Japanese. Maybe that's true because everyone else in that shop _was_ Japanese. The realist in me says we were unlucky. I don't know but it wasn't the last meal of the holiday we were hoping for and I can't recommend it ?‍♀️

The sushi is of decent quality at relatively reasonable prices. There is a good selection of sushi and meats so I ordered a bunch of different types cuz I wanted to try a variety of them.
M	Morphia Spellbinder on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hands down one of the best suhi experiences I've had. The food is delicious, the staff is super friendly and will communicate in English. They have an English menu and the dishes are very affordable. Recommend it whole heartedly.

I	Imran Manji on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow, wow. What a hidden gem. Tucked in the corner of the basement. Extremely fresh sushi. And for the price, you can’t beat it. not sure why the ratings are low. There’s a super popular place upstairs but honestly I don’t know whether we’re missing anything.

We came looking for Nemuro upstairs but that had a 2 hour wait (Saturday 1pm), so we decided to give this understated place on the basement level a try. What a great decision. You can order by the piece (300 for 2 pieces) including fatty tuna! We had fatty tuna at the fish market and a couple other places and this was comparable quality but 1/4th the price (it’s usually 600 a piece). Deserves 5 stars!

The sushi rice all fell apart as we tried to pick them up (new experience), the chef didn't bother to do the proper thing with each rice ball. The sashimi quality was average, more like the inexpensive sushi boat places. If you are a tourist in Tokyo, avoid this place.
