★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 三河湾に面する幡豆町には、六〜七世紀の古墳が二十二基存在していますが、この遊園の中には、そのうち七基があります。
これらは、洲崎山地区に五基、蛇山地区に二基分布していて、すべて、六〜七世紀の古墳時代後期の円墳です。
古墳時代前期には豪族の墓として大きな古墳が作られましたが、後期にはいると一般の裕福な人人もこうした、小型の古墳を作るようになりました。
昭和四十六年 洲崎山地区の四基の古墳が発掘調査され、一号〜四号古墳と名付けられました。
この二号古墳は、千三百年ほどまえ(七世紀後半)の古墳で、死者を葬るために作られた石室は、柱石を立てて部屋を区切り、通路(羨道という)と前室と奥室にわけられています。こうした形は、この地方に多く、複室型の横穴式石室といいます。
なお、この調査で、古墳の周囲には土留めのため、石が並べられていることがわかりました。

 Hazu Town, which faces Mikawa Bay, has 22 6th- to 7th-century burial mounds, of which seven are in the amusement park.
Five of these are distributed in the Susakiyama area and two in the Hebiyama area.
In the early Kofun period, large tombs were made as tombs for the Australians, but in the late period, ordinary wealthy people also started to make these small tombs.
In 1974, four burial mounds in the Susakiyama area were excavated and named as No. 1 to No. 4 burial mounds.
This No. 2 burial mound is an ancient burial mound about 1,300 years ago (the latter half of the 7th century), and the stone chamber that was made to bury the dead separated the room by setting up pillar stones to separate the room, the passage (called the highway), the front chamber and the back. It is divided into rooms. This shape is common in this region and is called a double-compartment type horizontal hole type stone chamber.
In this survey, it was found that stones were lined up around the burial mound for earth retaining purposes.
