I happened to drop in when heading to Ine. The torii on the sandy beach is perfect for Sumiyoshi Shrine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 綺麗な砂浜に立つ鳥居が美しい神社です。
訪問時はお祭りの準備中だったようで、地元の方のお話を聞かせて頂いたり、拝殿の中を見せて頂いたりしました。
拝殿の中には過去のお祭り時の集合写真や神社の昔の様子(江戸時代？)を伝える絵が掛けられており、地元の方の崇敬の篤さが伺えます。
昔、神様が海から神社の方に向かって真っ直ぐ上がってきたという言い伝えがあるようです。
夏はこの鳥居をくぐって海水浴というのも良さそうです。
砂浜に立つ鳥居はかなり珍しいと思うので一見の価値ありです。

In summer, it seems good to go through this torii gate and swim in the sea.
The torii that stands on the sandy beach is quite rare, so it's worth a look.
