The display set menu not available, they put entree on table without even asking and charge you hefty for something you might not even like. Worse experience in Japan for me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was expecting a bit more, based on how busy it was that night. Typical Asahi beer, typical izakaya food. Even their micro brewed beer was so-so. Good ambience and friendly waitress, has English menu as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There was a menu in english, however special offers were not translated and we almost ended up ordering something thinking that it was one price for all instead of a price per person included.
Service ranged from okay to slow during the different times we ordered food.
The food was alright but certainly nothing special. Prices were according to the quality, probably decent enough considering it is a quite centric place.
During our dinner there we also had an unexpected visit, a mouse running through the floor. None of our group really cared (nobody else in the local did apparently) as it ran away from us fast, but still not a nice thing to see in a restaurant.
I can recommend it as a place to go when there is no alternative, but it is not a place I would plan to go again myself.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The service was amazing as so was the food. I had the Kyoto special set menu with umesyu and ginger ale cocktail.
Everything they brought out was super fresh and delicious.
I will definitely come back if I can.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff were polite, helpful, courteous and able to speak English. Portions were sized and courses well space, the price was appropriate for the high quality of food and portions sizes. The included entree was delicious and very welcome since coming off the street staving. Overall I would highly recommend trying the set menu and the house specialty cocktails. The business was super clean and had a wonderful atmosphere!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant was the perfect place for delicious Japanese cuisine. It had a variety of options to choose from. We enjoyed our food so much during our Kyoto trip we had dinner at this restaurant twice during our vist. The customer service was great. The menu was easy to order from. I would highly recommend this restaurant during your visit. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐??????
