「水上の龍王さま」として昔から崇敬されている龍王山は日照りのときは卵をお供えして雨乞いをすると、雨が降ると伝えられています。また社の奥には、男岩と女岩と呼ばれる子宝夫婦岩があり、お参りすると子宝に恵まれるというなんとも霊験あらたかな奇岩です。

静かで小川のせせらぎが癒されますご神体の巨石がいいです奥で滝行を行える場がありました 14、八大龍王八大龍王は、仏教守護の八体の龍王(竜神)で水中の主といわれている。昔から雨乞いの神様として祀られ、雲を呼び、雨を降らす井戸の神・農業の神である。この神様が、猿爪川の源流の地である金蛇入池と、水上川の源流の地である龍王山に祀られています。龍は蛇を神格化したものであり、双方の地には昔話しには蛇が登場します。金蛇入池には、百姓家の鶏・鯉などをさらい、時には子供にも襲い掛かる大鷲を金の蛇が退治したとか、金蛇入池に身を投げた腰元が、他の池に身を投げた殿と姫に会いたくて金の蛇になり空をさまよったという話しが伝わっています。また、龍王山には大きな岩の割れ目に白い蛇が住んでいて、日照りの時は卵をお供えして雨乞いをすると、白い蛇が現れて、水気を吹いて全山を霧で包み雨を降らすという話しが伝わっています。陶の陶磁器以前の産業は農業ですから、田畑の水で苦労する事の無いよう祀ったのであろう。金蛇入の八大龍王の碑水上龍王山の祠昭和の頃、この二つの地は観光スポットでもありました。金蛇入池にはボートが浮かび、桜の季節には花見客で賑わいました。龍王山も男岩・女岩といった奇岩に恵まれ、清らかな水に紅葉の映える憩いの地であり、双方とも若者のデートの場でもありました。もう一つ、滝があるという共通点があります。金蛇入の滝は砂防ダムの工事により水は流れていませんが、龍王山の滝は今も周囲を潤しています
