奥州平泉が奥の細道紀行最北端で、折り返しの地だそうです。
近くに宮沢賢治の詩碑もあります。
It is a statue of Basho and a stone monument next to the old Konjikido.
Oshu Hiraizumi is the northernmost point of the journey along the back path, and it is said to be a turning point.
There is also a monument to Kenji Miyazawa nearby.
