やがて明治に入ると大蔵省などが設置されて国産第一号紙幣が製造され、郵政省や日本電電（NTTの前身）、国際電信電話（KDDIの前身）などが設置されて郵政や電気通信などの技術や文化がここから発信されていったそうです。
大規模な再開発を重ねて今、大手町プレイスとしてビジネスパーソンが行き交う超高層ビル街のビジネスそして憩いの場として存在しています。
土地の歴史に想いを馳せれば、一杯のコーヒーも特別なものになりますね。
It is said that there used to be "Shonai Clan Sakai Family Residence" and "Fukui Domain Matsudaira Family Residence" in the Otemachi 2-chome area. This is a story from the Edo period.
Eventually, in the Meiji era, the Ministry of Finance was established to manufacture the first domestically produced banknotes, and the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (predecessor of NTT), Kokusai Denshin Denwa (predecessor of KDDI), etc. were established for postal services and telecommunications. After many large-scale redevelopments, it now exists as a place for business and relaxation in the skyscraper district where business people come and go as Otemachi Place.

美味しいコーヒーと紅茶、休憩所を提供してくれるいわば喫茶店です。
ビルの地下1階にあるので、意外と穴場で混んでないです。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ オフィスへの持ち帰りユーザーが多く、平日はお昼時でもお一人様なら席の確保は難しくないかもです。かくいう私も持ち帰りで近くのベンチで季節限定のフラペチーノを楽しみました。
周りには屋内外にベンチなどが多いのも嬉しいポイントですね。
There are many users who take it back to the office, and it may not be difficult to secure a seat for one person even at noon on weekdays. I also took it home and enjoyed the seasonal Frappuccino on a nearby bench.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a nice Starbucks and the staff work very hard. But some staff are a little scared of foreigners. Staff don't need to be scared. Staff don't need to speak PERFECT English to help foreign customers. Foreign customers know that English isn't used much in Japan and foreign customers are usually (99%) patient. So staff should not be scared, staff should enjoy helping foreign customers. We foreign customers love Japan and Japanese people!
