I happened to pass by and found it. But that's about it. Even so, there are many such places in Kyoto. History fans are intrigued, even if only monuments.

[Jurakudai Uesugi Kagekatsu / Kanetsugu Naoe Estimated site of mansion]
In the notation of Heiankyo, this area corresponds to Sakyo Nijo Nibo Hachimachi. According to "Higashisho", it was the town (Togucho) where the officials of Harumiyabo, who are in charge of the office work of the crown prince, live. It is known that the mother of Minamoto no Morotada lived in September of the 4th year of Jōhō (1077) in the latter half of the Heian period ("Mizuzaiki").
The capital city of Kyoto was once destroyed by the war of the Onin War, but it was revived as a modern city by Hideyoshi Toyotomi, who is promoting the unification of the world. The center is Ijo Juraku Castle and Samurai Land (Daimaya site area). The area around here is also included in the range, and it is believed that the residence of Kagekatsu Uesugi, the northern daimyo, and his chief retainer, Kanetsugu Naoe, was run.
Kanetsugu Naoe was a vassal from Hideyoshi's point of view, but was given preferential treatment such as receiving the surname Toyotomi as well as Kagekatsu Uesugi. According to the "Uesugi Chronicle", in 1589, the daimyo of Dewa Province (currently Yamagata Prefecture), Daihoji Chikatsumaru (later Yoshikatsu) used Naoe Kanetsugu's mansion as an inn in Rakuchu. The mansion certainly existed.
The location is unknown, but in the "Kyomachikan" published in the 12th year of the Horeki (1762) in the middle of the Edo period, "Naoyacho" on the south side of the area is handed down as the site of the Naoe mansion. Looking at the "Kyoto Zuyoufu" drawn in the early Edo period, this town was originally a "Naoi town". It can be said that it is an important reference site for the site of Kanetsugu's residence.
The Uesugi Kagekatsu Mansion is known for the location of Ichijo Modoribashi Nishiiri, which was obtained in 1588. There was a Hideie mansion, and there was also a Uesugi mansion on the left side. This cannot be the Ichijo Modoribashi mansion.
Since the current "Ukita-cho" and "Morinaka-cho" can be presumed to be the surnames of both Ukita and Mouri mansions, "Nagao-cho" facing north on the east side of the mansion has become the site of the Uesugi mansion (Nagao is the old surname). Be compared. Then, you will notice that "Naoe-cho" (Kanetsugu's residence estimate) and "Nagao-cho" mentioned earlier are close to each other. Considering the deep relationship between scenic beauty and Kanetsugu, it is quite possible.
From the explanation of "Jurakudai Uesugi Kagekatsu / Naoe Kanetsugu Estimated Site"
It is just an estimated place.

From Hidekichi's point of view, Kanetsugu Naoe was a vassal, but like Kagekatsu Uesugi, he was given preferential treatment such as being given the surname of Toyomi. The Uesugi Kagekatsu Mansion is known for the location of Ichijo Modoribashi Nishiiri, which was obtained in 1588. According to the "Kagekuni Kamiraku Diary", around the same time, Ukita was on the right side of the Mori Terumoto Mansion in the southeastern direction of Juraku Castle. There was a Hideie mansion, and there was also a Uesugi mansion on the left side. This cannot be the Ichijo Return Bridge Mansion.
Since the current "Ukita-cho" and "Morinaka-cho" can be presumed to be the remains of the Ukita and Mouri residences, respectively, "Nagao-cho" facing north of the area on the east side of the residence has become the site of the Uesugi residence (Nagao is the old name). Be compared. Then, you will notice that "Naoe-cho" (Kanetsugu's residence estimate) and "Nagao-cho" mentioned earlier are close to each other. Considering the deep relationship between scenic beauty and succession, it is quite possible.
