是信房墓所 是信房は浄土真宗の開祖親鸞聖人の高弟24人中の一人とされている。師命によって東北地方に下り各地に寺院を開いて宗門の不況に努めた。当地の石森山本誓寺(後に盛岡へ移転)もそのひとつである。是信房は俗名を吉田大納言藤原信明とする説と三位源頼政の曾孫宗房とする二説がある。前説では文永三年(1266)10月14日、後説では正嘉二年(1258)10月19日。ともに86歳を一期としてこの地に没したと伝えている。平成元年12月15日指定 紫波町教育委員会
