「朧夜や花盗る陰の人は誰」
境内にこの名句の逸話を記した石碑があり面白い。
「ある春の夜明けに、宮中内裏の満開の桜の一枝が折られているのを天皇が見つけ、犯人探しのおふれを出した。暫くして自首して来たのが、歌聖藤原定家であったことから事を荒立たせず、穏やかに宴を催した、という言い伝えです。朧夜に花を盗る姿誠に人であろうか物陰かお地蔵様かはたまた幻か」
歌人藤原定家は天皇も配慮するほど影響力があったということですかね。
