ミ	ミツオ on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 数年振りに参詣しました。いつも、池のホトリで竜(甲賀三郎)伝説の解説を読みますけど、感慨にふけるわけですよ！因みに小生も三男坊なんで、なおさらです。天気も晴れ上がって爽やかでした。観音堂で手を合わせて、３重の塔の見事さに驚き。何ともあの、御神木の迫力に感動しました。平野部の桜は満開ですが、この寺の界隈はまだこれからでした。(4月10日) (追伸)由緒あるお寺です。真言宗密教系なので、浅間山の噴火抑えの意味があったわけなんです。群馬県側の延命寺は蒲原の観音堂と同じく噴火マグマによって埋まってしまったようです。元々、昔の天皇さんからの指示によって、火山噴火によって起こる天変地異などの、国土、臣民の大災害を防ぐためにこのような格式高い寺が建立されていたようです。また、庭から丘に上がると水子供養などの大きなお地蔵様が、お立ちでした。(昔、拝見しました…) I visited for the first time in a few years. T	Toshihiko Yano on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ この近辺では珍しい、しっかりとした寺院。今の場所では無いが、587年用明天皇（聖徳太子の父）勅願による建立。由緒書き通りならば、であるが。江戸の寛永時代から残る観音堂、三重塔とか樹齢千年という杉とか色々あるが、一番分かりやすい見所は、参道の下にある神秘的な雰囲気が漂う湧水池。龍神まつりなる御代田の祭りでは、この池に竜の張りぼてを持って練り歩くとのこと。そんなに混むような場所ではなく、静かな観光スポット（という程目立つ物は無いが）を探しているならば打ってつけ。 A solid temple that is rare in this area. 玉	玉屋のこーちゃん on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 子供が小さい頃、このお寺が経営する『釣り堀』に行きました。餌止めしている為、小さい子供でも岩魚・山女・ニジマスが簡単に釣れました。（重さで買取でしたけど）殺生に繋がる為いつしか廃止になりましたけど。隣接の『シャクナゲ園』には日本一大きな『子育て地蔵』が建っています。たまたま今回行った時は本堂改修工事の為、御本尊様を拝むことは出来ませんでした。境内には『観音堂』『三重塔』『水分神社』はじめ、見所が沢山在ります。『シャクナゲ園』下に大きな駐車場・トイレなどが在りますが、是非『仁王門』から入って下さい。『大沼』～『参道・石段』～「観音堂』と順番に廻れます。『神代杉』は見ているだけでパワーを感じます。 When I was little, I went to the "fishing moat" run by this temple.
