★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 松平宗家３代信光公が初代親氏公、２代泰親公の菩提のために創建した寺院。重要文化財の観音堂も見事ですが、山門、唐門、土塀、石垣など歴史を感じさせるものが沢山あります。
A temple built by Nobumitsu, the third generation of the Matsudaira clan, for the bodhi of the first parent and the second Yasuchika. The Kannon-do, an important cultural property, is also wonderful, but there are many historical things such as the Sanmon, Karamon, earthen walls, and Ishigaki.

2018年12月訪問時 残念ながら修復工事中でした。
工事完了予定は2019年8月20日 とのことです。
観音堂の入り口部分のみ拝見できました。
National Important Cultural Property Shinkomyoji Kannon-do
When I visited in December 2018, unfortunately the restoration work was underway.
The construction is scheduled to be completed on August 20, 2019.
I could see only the entrance of Kannon-do.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 境内に建つ「観音堂」は、室町時代後中期建立の重要文化財です。
室町時代の禅宗様らしく、反り上がった屋根が美しいお堂です。
The Kannon-do, which is built in the precincts, is an important cultural property built in the latter half of the Muromachi period.
It is a beautiful hall with a curved roof, which is typical of Zen Buddhism in the Muromachi period.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 鬱蒼とした木立の中を分け入るように車で入っていくと､少し開けた空間があり､シンプルな佇まいの信光明寺が建っている。伊勢新九郎の焼き討ちにされて他の伽藍を失ったというが､そう聞くと失った伽藍にも歴史の息吹が感じられる気がするから不思議だ｡
最大の見所は室町時代の観音堂。特有の大胆に反り返った屋根が印象的だ。観音堂以外にも浄土宗の寺で､室町時代や南北朝時代の阿弥陀様もおられるそうだ｡ご朱印にも快く対応頂いた。
山門と本堂のあいだにでぇ～んと幼稚園庭があるのは少し興醒めな気もするが､でも待機児童が社会問題化している事を考えれば､ある意味一番時代にあった土地の使い方なのかもしれない｡

It seems a little exciting to have a kindergarten garden between the Sanmon and the main hall, but considering that waiting-list children are becoming a social problem, in a sense, how to use the land that was most suitable for the times. It may be.
