★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 出雲市大社町杵築南に〔神光寺〕というお寺がある。本堂前の手水鉢が芭蕉の関連碑だと、ある資料に出ている。〔一夜塚〕と言われ、下に短冊を埋めたというのだ。

行ってみたが、どうも判然としない。
（追記）久しぶりに神光寺を訪れた。今回、本堂側からの写真を撮ったので投稿しておく。「寛政１２年」の文字が見える。寛政１２年（１８００）２５世雪山和尚建立。句については、「鹿島詣」に「萩原や一よはやどせ山のいぬ 桃青」で所載。

(Addition) I visited Shinkoji Temple for the first time in a long time. This time, I took a picture from the main hall side, so I will post it. You can see the words "Kansei 12 years". Built in the 12th year of Kansei (1800) by Osho Yukiyama. The phrase is included in "Kashima 詣" in "Hagiwara Yaichiyo Hayadoseyama no Inu Momosei".

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 創建は貞治年間《(1362~1368年)北朝年号、南朝年号では正平17年以降》に悦堂常喜禅師が大社町修理免弥山山麓より北に約1km谷間を登った所(通称、坊床)に伽藍を創建し不老山神光寺と号した。その後豪雨災害で移転し、松平出羽守より慶安2(1649)年に御絵図裏書証文を以って境内地として杵築大鳥居の東方の三角地462間を賜わり、此処を開墾し現在に至る。
享和3(1803)年に開山堂が落慶する。現在の本堂や開山堂である。
36世清巌和尚代、大正13(1924)年に化城門、斎路(参道)が完成。
曹洞宗の寺院で、境内はとても静寂である。私事だが、以前道に迷って境内にはいりこんでしまったときに親切且つ礼儀をもって接してくださった。
