★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 交通安全の石碑を見て寄り道しました。鳥居と真っすぐに伸びる参道の先の立派な社殿が素敵です。狛さんも面白い顔してます。ひときわ大きい杉もいい感じです。
 I took a detour after seeing the road safety stone monument. The splendid shrine ahead of the torii and the straight approach to the path is wonderful. Mr. Koma also has a funny face. The big cedar is also very nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 新庄神社は、明治までは惣社大明神と呼ばれていました。作陽誌（1691）には、新庄村の四所神社のひとつ、惣社として記載されています。
新庄村史にある、新庄神社の伝承によると、郷中の諸神社の神主を招集し云々とあります。いわゆるこの郷の惣社としての役割を持っていたものと考えられます。
また、笠杖山の麓の神場というところに鎮座していた、磐門別神社が罹災し、その手力雄大神を合わせ祭ったとあります。
