1	1hatm3pp31 M on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 廣澤美術館に行くために初めて常総線に乗りました。かわいい電車だなと思いました。そしてこの下館駅には駅カラがありました。新型コロナの影響でカラオケが悪い文化のように思われているようでわたしは悲しかったのですが、そんな世相を吹き飛ばすような斬新なカラオケ施設。躊躇なく一曲歌いました。（けれど一曲１００円はちょっと高いなぁ）歌って旅に出ることは健康にいいです! I took the Joso Line for the first time to go to the Hirosawa Museum. I thought it was a cute train. And there was a station color at this Shimodate station. I was sad that karaoke seems to be a bad culture due to the influence of the new corona, but it is a novel karaoke facility that blows away such a world. I sang one song without hesitation. (But 100 yen per song is a little expensive) Singing and going on a trip is good for your health!
T	Taka Shigeru on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 地方の小さな駅かと思っていましたが、行ってみるとJR水戸線、関東鉄道常総線、真岡鉄道が乗り入れていて、思ったよりも大きな駅でした。タイミングが合わず見られませんでしたが、真岡鉄道にはSLが走っているようです。SLに乗るためには、公式サイトからSL整理券の事前予約が必要なようで、当日券は販売していないそうです。以前、真岡鉄道ではなく、大井川鉄道でSLに乗車した経験がありますが、SLは乗車するよりも走っている勇姿を見る方がいいなと思います。平成の大合併で下館市と周辺の町村が合併して誕生した筑西市。筑西市役所は下館駅の目と鼻の先にあります。 I thought it was a small station in a rural area, but when I went there, the JR Mito Line, Kanto Railway Joso Line, and Moka Railway were on board, and it was a bigger station than I expected. I couldn't see it because the timing wasn't right, but it seems that SL is running on the Moka Railway. I have previously boarded a steam locomotive on the Oigawa Railway instead of the Moka Railway, but I think it is better to see the brave figure running on the SL rather than riding it. Chikusei City was created by the merger of Shimodate City and surrounding towns and villages in the Great Heisei Consolidation. Chikusei City Hall is just a stone's throw from Shimodate Station.

N	Navy Lulu on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very confusing to use the Moka Railway Line (tiny 1 car line passing notably by Mashiko). It is opposite to the Mito Line track from Oyama. There are IC card machines for entering and leaving, but those are only to enter the JR lines. To use the Moka Railway Line you have to take a ticket when boarding indicating which station you boarded. You will pay the fare when you get off by presenting your ticket at the fare office. Still gave a good rating since we (non-Japanese speaking foreigners) were helped by two very nice JR station staff who very patiently explained everything to us with Google translate for about 30 minutes, even going as far as helping us plan the return trip to Tokyo with their timetables.
B	Brian Loh on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were from Tokyo and all the way here on the way to Honda Museum, so have to change to a conventional traditional steam train at this station. Have not been seeing such steam train for decades, not many too around the world. It was facinating and exciting experience for us to take this train. The black steam train was late to board and as a matter of fact, no crowd too at all. Basically may be around 3 - 5 pax per cabin.
