明治11年(1878年)、明治天皇は北陸東海道御巡 あん 幸の折、柏崎を訪れた。9月14日朝7時30分に柏崎行在所を出発した一行は、8時25分に荒浜御小休所に到着、10時10分に椎谷御小休所に到着した。
このとき、天皇に献上するお茶の水になったのが椎谷 の御膳水である。また、お茶に利用されたことから、「お 茶水の井戸」とも呼ばれている。（柏崎市立図書館「柏崎の水（湧水・井戸・温泉・鉱泉・滝）」より）
[History] Designated by the Minister of Education in November 1933
In 1878, the Emperor Meiji visited Kashiwazaki when the Hokuriku Tokaido Highway was visited. The group, which left the Kashiwazaki branch at 7:30 am on September 14, arrived at Arahama Gokokusho at 8:25 and arrived at Shiiya Gokakusho at 10:10.

明治天皇のことについては他の方が述べているので省略します。
道が狭いので直接車などで行くことが出来ません。道路から歩いて５分ほどですので歩きましょう。
壁から流れ出る湧水をイメージしていたんですが、地面から湧き出るタイプの湧水でした。
現場にはひしゃくがあります。これで水を汲めますが漏斗を用意するとボトルにいれやすいです。細かいゴミなども入ってしまうので煮沸してから飲まれることをおすすめします。

Since the road is narrow, you cannot go directly by car. It's about 5 minutes walk from the road so let's walk.
I imagined the spring water flowing from the wall, but it was the type of spring water that springs from the ground.
There is a cassotte on the scene. You can draw water with this, but if you prepare a funnel, it is easy to put it in a bottle. It is recommended to boil before drinking as it will contain fine dust.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 新潟県の名水に指定されていますが、汲みづらいし、汲み場の様子から、ちょっと飲もうという気になりませんでした。
沸いている水はきれいです。
Although it is designated as a famous water in Niigata prefecture, it was difficult to draw and I didn't feel like drinking a little because of the appearance of the drawing place.
The boiling water is clean.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ なんとも天然に地中から湧いている水瓶の様な場所なので、落ち葉や枯れ枝、クモや虫等々の障害があり、気楽に入れ物だけ持って汲んでいける清水ではないです。私は諦め帰りました。
ひしゃくだけは備えてありました。
立派な看板が立っていましたので、ちょっと不釣合い差を感じました。
