なお、稲荷社の隣に小林群鳳刻の「椎谷城址碑」が建てられています。
There's nothing to look back on, but there's a relic sign built by the local neighborhood association.
Next to the Inari shrine, there is a "Shiiya castle monument" which is engraved with Kobayashi group phoenixes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1507年、越後守護上杉房能が守護代長尾為景に攻め殺された事件に端を発する越後錯乱。関東管領上杉顕定と五郎憲房父子は為景を討つ名目で1509年、上野国から三国峠を越えて越後国へ侵攻。為景を撃退した後に陣を張ったのが椎谷だった。石地へ海水浴に行ったついでに立ち寄るまで、椎谷陣屋はその陣趾だとばかり思っていた。よくよく考えてみれば｢陣屋｣ってのはもっと後の時代の藩制の役所名だよなー、などと思いつつ、せっかく寄ったのでざっと見学はさせて頂いた。陣屋跡は比較的こぢんまりした史跡ながら、とても良く整備されていた。海沿いの国道から細い道を少し入った丘の上にあるのだが、帰りに左折して道路へ出るところでクルマを擦っちまった。とほほほほ。
In 1507, the Echigo confusion originated in the case where Fusano Uesugi, the guardian of Echigo, was attacked and killed by Tamekage Nagao, the guardian. In 1509, Kanto Kanrei Uesugi Akisada and Goro Kenbo father and son invaded Echigo from Ueno over the Mikuni Pass. It was Shiiya who formed a camp after repelling Tamekage. Until I went to the stone ground to swim in the sea and stopped by, I thought that Shiiya Jinya was the toe. When I think about it carefully, I thought that "Jinya" was the name of the clan system office in a later era, but I stopped by so I took a quick tour. The site of Jinya was a relatively small historic site, but it was in very good condition. It's on a hill that is a little narrow from the national highway by the sea, but on the way back, I rubbed the car when I turned left and went out to the road. Tohohohoho.
