安	安積野 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 久保田藩主佐竹氏の居城である久保田城の遺構であるお濠脇にあるちょっとした広場。そのお濠には蓮が植えられていてお盆休みに訪れたときにはちょうど見頃となっていた。この蓮であるが、千葉県検見川の泥炭層下から出てきた2000年以上前の種から発芽させ株分けした大賀ハスとされていたが、実際は枯れてしまい今あるのは漁山紅蓮という種類のようだが、学術的な研究ならともかく市民の憩いの場として、あるいは観光的なものからすれば、漁山紅蓮でも十分にきれいなものだ。そんな細かい事はさておいて咲き誇る蓮を眺めながら撮影に勤しんでいると、大変品がある花と感じさせるがそれもその筈、蓮は仏教において極楽浄土に咲く最高位の植物なのだそうだ。ちなみにわずかながら睡蓮も咲いている。尚、少しだけ撮影のアドバイスをするならば、蓮は朝に開き午後には閉じるそうなのでなるべく早い時間に来る事と、撮影位置と花の間に若干距離があるので、中望遠以上の長めのレンズを持ってくる事だ。 A small open space beside the moat, which is the remains of Kubota Castle, the residence of Mr. Satake, the lord of the Kubota feudal clan.
