★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 北以外湿地に面していたようで、駐車場から坑道跡へ歩いて行くと徐々に下って行きます。所々土塁や堀が残っていますが、解りやすいのは八幡神社の社の裏手でしょうか。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 600年以上前、南北朝の動乱期に争われた関城の城跡です。攻め手の結城氏・守り手の関氏の供養塔や周囲に残る土塁の跡に歴史の伊吹を感じます。
少し離れた神社の裏に攻城戦で掘られた坑道の跡もあります。このような坑道が見つかるのは大変珍しいです。
当時は三方が沼で囲まれた堅城だったそうですが、付近の田んぼに水がはられるとイメージしやすいです。2キロほど離れた所にある大宝城跡（関城と一緒に国指定史跡）も、土塁と堀が良好に残っており、こちらもかなり見応えがあります。
It is the ruins of Seki Castle, which was contested during the upheaval of the Northern and Southern dynasties over 600 years ago. You can feel the history of Ibuki on the memorial towers of the attackers Yuki and the defender Seki, as well as the remains of the earthwork.
There is also a trace of a tunnel dug in the siege battle behind the shrine a little away. It is very rare to find such a tunnel.
At that time, it was said that the castle was surrounded by swamps on three sides, but it is easy to imagine when the rice fields in the vicinity are flooded. At the site of the Daihojo Castle (a historic site designated by the government along with Seki Castle), which is located about 2 km away, the earthwork and moat are still in good condition, which is quite spectacular.

その石質や作風、風化の具合から、つくば市の小田産の御影石で室町期の作かと思います。
塔身の部分は後世に作り直した物。
