★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 南御室小屋からかなりの勾配、岩場、そして深林に囲まれた登山道を抜けると一気に景観が変化します。そこには北岳、富士山、八ヶ岳を望むことができるパノラマ世界が待っています。松の香りがここまで頑張った自分の心と身体も癒してくれます。
The scenery changes all at once when you go through the mountain trail surrounded by the slopes, rocks and deep forest from Minami Omuro hut. There is a panoramic world where you can see Mt. Kita, Mt. Fuji, and Mt. Yatsugatake. The scent of pine will heal your mind and body even though you have worked so hard.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 鳳凰山の薬師岳や薬師岳小屋よりも南側にある小ピーク。
夜叉神峠や南御室小屋側から登ってきた場合、森林限界を超えてすぐにある場所になる。
白砂と大きな岩が無数にあるので一瞬違和感を感じてしまうが、この辺りからの眺望は素晴らしく富士山も白峰三山も良く見える。
厳冬期でありながら全く積雪していない所が多くあり、雪を吹き飛ばすような強風が頻繁に吹いている場所である事が想像出来る。
鳳凰山は、難所が少なく比較的危険度が少ない山と言われているが、砂払岳の辺りは風が強く身体を持っていかれやすい事や、巨大な岩が重なっていてやや険しい所があり通過に注意を要する。
あと、砂払岳から薬師岳のほうにかけて稜線が広くなっているので、迷ってしまう登山者もいるという話も薬師岳小屋で聞いたので、訪れる人は注意していただきたい。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 鳳凰三山の脇役で、あまり取り上げられませんが、薬師岳と同じく花崗岩の白い岩と砂がとてもキレイです。
また、夜叉人峠から登ると、一番最初に展望が開ける場所で、薬師岳が最も美しく見えるのではないでしょうか。
もちろん、富士山も見えますし、壁のような巨岩もあるし、鳳凰三山に負けてないと思います。
これだけ誉めれば、砂払岳も喜んでいることでしょうf(^_^;
