★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 神社の背後に回って道なき道の高台を少し登ると、後南朝の史跡「河野御所跡」があります。三之公から遷った河野宮忠義王の行宮跡にして、長禄元年(1457年)12月の長禄の変で宮が赤松一党の凶刃に倒れた惨劇の舞台と伝えられます。神社には何の案内もなく、知らないと見落としてしまうので要注意。
