It is a shrine at the entrance of Mt. Fuji just after climbing the stone steps of Shinagawa Shrine. The small straw shoes are hung on the left and right, which enhances the atmosphere at the entrance of the mountain trail.
By the way, Sarutahiko is a character who has a big nose in Tezuka Osamu's "Firebird" and projects Tezuka himself to some extent. Although it is, the mythical Sarutahiko is also described as "nose length seven strokes, height seven shaku", and it is depicted as a tall and unusual existence with a long nose.
I couldn't figure out the difference between the sword and the shaku, but since the original definition was the same, I had a nose of 212 cm, which is the same as my height. Hmm ... It's inconvenient. Or was it possible to use the nose freely like an elephant? For the time being, Kunizu God is a god.
There is also a theory that it was a sun god that was worshiped in Ise before Amaterasu Omikami because it is a god that illuminates the heavens and the earth. It seems to be.
There is such a theory that it is a strange Kunizu god, but like the god of Japanese mythology, when fishing in the sea of Ise, he is caught in the Hirao shellfish and drowns, but the god is born from the bubbles that he spit out when he drowned. increase. It is a characteristic of Japanese mythology that it produces another god in a strange place, and they propagate even in asexual reproduction.
However, as it was drawn in Tezuka Osamu's "Phoenix", it is tied to Ame-no-Uzume, so I think he wanted sexual reproduction, but he became a two-pillar god. It is not clear if the child was born.
By the way, aside from "Phoenix", let's talk about the role of Sarutahiko in Japanese mythology.
When Ninigi-no-Mikoto was about to descend, there was a Kunizu god illuminating from Takamagahara to Ashihara China at the fork in the heavens. He was Sarutahiko and offered to lead the way for Ninigi no Mikoto.
Sarutahiko has another characteristic besides the tallness and long nose mentioned above, and his eyes were shining like Yata no Kagami or Physalis alkekengi.
The long nose is said to be the prototype of the tengu.
For the time being, there are various theories about this place, and it has been said that Takamagahara is Takachiho Town in Miyazaki Prefecture and Takaharu Town in Miyazaki Prefecture as Miyazaki citizens, but if you look it up, the place where you call yourself Takamagahara is Kyushu.・ There are many places in China, Kinki, Chubu, and Kanto, and I don't know where they are anymore ...
Since he guided the way of Ninigi, the person wearing the tengu mask may play a leading role in the festivals of shrines in various places.
From this, it seems that Sarutahiko is enshrined as a folk religion to pray for safety during the journey.
The Sarutahiko Shrine at the entrance of Fujizuka can be said to be a symbol of the mountain worship and the Sarutahiko worship that watches over the journey to Mt. Fuji. Is it the mountain climbing of Fujizuka, or the representative who is being watched over by Fujiko and leaving?
It is a company that enhances your imagination along with the "safe frog" of Asama Shrine at the exit of this Fujizuka.
