車を降りると直ぐに鳴き声がして近づいてみるとすり寄ってきてくれました！

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 三河五薬師の一つに数えられ、高野山平等院末寺として弘仁４年（813）に空海が開基した古刹。県重要文化財指定の青銅の磬があり、中央撞座には、八葉複弁の蓮華座が大きく鋳出されている。孔雀文様は全体の輪郭線が美しく、県下在銘金石文としては最古。
Counted as one of the Mikawa Goyakushi, Kukai was established as the end of Koyasan Byodoin Temple by Kukai in 813. There is a bronze breeze designated by the prefecture's important cultural property, and the lotus seat, which is a double-leafed eight-leaf compound, is cast in the central pitch. The peacock pattern has a beautiful outline, and is the oldest gold stone pattern in the prefecture.

周囲&お寺にも特別目立つ物がない中、ビックリする物を発見しました‼️
それは、幹回りが1.5m以上ある山茶花の古木です??花は散りはじめてましたが、岡崎市の名木ではないかと思うほど、立派な山茶花です?
今まで観た山茶花では一番風格があり、桜井寺を象徴するに値出来る名木⁉️です?

It ’s the most famous of the mountain tea flowers I ’ve seen so far, and it ’s a famous tree ⁉️ that can be said to symbolize Sakurai Temple.

境内では2匹の猫ちゃんが戯れていました。非常に人懐っこくて癒されます☺️
お寺の方は非常駐で、2回目の訪問時に御朱印を頂きました。

敷地が斜面上にあるので足元要注意です。
斜面に無数のお地蔵さんがあって壮観でした。
It is a historical Shingon sect temple that was founded by Kukai in 813.
Be careful of your feet as the site is on a slope.
There were countless Jizo statues on the slope and it was spectacular.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ テレビで三河五山の1つということで紹介されていたのを拝見してお伺いしました。
今は昔、当時の面影はあまりなく山の中の古寺のただずまいとなっているが、それがとても趣のある雰囲気になっている。
残念ながら誰も居られずご朱印は頂けなかったが、どこからともなく二匹の猫が出てきて歓迎してくれた。
駐車場らしき広場が道の両側にあるのだが、ほんとにお寺さんの駐車場かどうかわからず躊躇しました。それほど気にする必要もないほど他に車もないんですけどね…。

There are parking lot-like plazas on both sides of the road, but I hesitated because I didn't know if it was a temple parking lot. I don't have any other cars so much that I don't have to worry about it ...
