On December 8, 1941 (Japan time), the former Japanese army attacked Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, USA, opening the beginning of the Pacific War. The commander was Isoroku Yamamoto, Commander-in-Chief of the Allied Fleet from Nagaoka City. Knowing the difference in national power between Japan and the United States, he was destined to command an attack on the United States while opposed to the war. The 8th is 80 years since the beginning of the war. People associated with it still remember the fifty-six who loved their hometown, hoping to avoid war. In the attack on Pearl Harbor, the former Japanese army made a surprise attack on the US military base in Honolulu, Hawaii, and achieved great results. Japan had a big win, but 56, who led the operation, was not happy. The month after the attack on Pearl Harbor, he leaked a letter to Mineichi Koga, a junior at the Naval Academy. Fifty-six was born in 1884 to the Takano family of the former Nagaoka feudal lord, and advanced from Nagaoka Junior High School to the Navy School. In 1916, the Navy Major took over the house of Yamamoto Tatewaki, who was the chief retainer of the same clan. He was responsible for the revival of the Yamamoto family, who lost in the Boshin War and was once cut off.
