蒔	蒔苗光大 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 長瀞町で有名ならしいから訪れました。最初は多分この博物館の目玉である、でっけえサメの歯がお出迎えしてくれます。ＮＥＸＴ！この地域の岩の種類とかあります。結構な量あります。最初なのでゆっくり見ると思いますがゆっくり見てたら余裕で1時間くらいかかると思うんで計画はちゃんとしましょう。ＮＥＸＴ！お待ちかねの化石系です。ここはテンションぶちあげていきましょう。思い切って恐竜と自撮りしてみるのもいいですね。まぁそんなこんなでいろいろ見応えがありますので興味無い人も是非‼️ I visited because it seems to be famous in Nagatoro town. ヤ	ヤマ田太郎 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 博物館入口前にひっそりと佇む「カバ・・？」のような、地味な生き物の模型には気がついたでしょうか。これぞ博物館イチオシの秩父の珍獣「パレオパラドキシア」なのですよ。パレ、パラ・・なんだか舌を噛みそうな名前ですね(笑)。 1200万年前に絶滅した水生の哺乳類で、カバの仲間ではなく象に近い種類だったそうです。秩父は実は世界で一番多くのパレオ君(以下略)が発掘されている場所で、哺乳類化石としては史上初の国の天然記念物に指定されています。見た目のユルさに反して、貴重なスゴい奴なんです！　(笑)。パレオ君の体系的な展示としては質・量とも、多分ここは世界一なのでしょう。ワタシは興味深く拝見しましたが、それほど見栄えのしない「渋い」生き物なので(笑) 子供たちがティラノサウルスなどの大迫力の古生物を期待していたのなら、内容は微妙かもしれません。余談ですが秩父鉄道を走る「SLパレオエキスプレス」のパレオはこのパレオパラドキシアにちなんで名付けられたのだとか。ワタシはてっきり女性が水着の上にまとう、一枚布のカラフルな衣装の方のパレオだと思っていました。(笑) かつては炭水車の側面にパレオ君をデザインした金色のエンブレムが描かれていたそうですが、今はなくなってしまいました。あまりウケがよくなかったのかな・・・(汗)。パレオ君には、是非これにめげず、林家たい平師匠のように秩父地方の観光の牽引役となって頑張ってほしいものです(笑)。 Did you notice a model of a sober creature like a "hippo ...?" As an aside, the pareo of "SL Paleo Express" running on the Chichibu Railway was named after this Paleoparadoxia. I thought it was a pareo with a colorful piece of cloth that a woman would wear on her swimsuit. (Lol) There used to be a golden emblem designed by Paleo on the side of the tender, but now it's gone. I wonder if it wasn't so good ... (sweat). I would like Paleo to do his best as a driving force for tourism in the Chichibu region, like Master Taihei Hayashiya.
c	cross2road on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 埼玉県という面的広がりに焦点を絞って展示がされた自然系の博物館ですね。展示は3分割されていて、1.長瀞渓の概要 2.秩父地方を中心とした地球史 3.埼玉県の動植物の特色となっています。子供も喜びそうなジオラマ展示なので楽しめるとは思いますが、如何せん内容は20～30年前の教科書っぽい。必要事項は丹念に展示されているのですが古臭さを感じてしまいます。今時必須の持続可能性、SDGs関連の展示が全く無いですから。 46億年の地球史的に見れば人類の歴史なんて一瞬の出来事で、5億年前に爆発的に増えた動植物は絶えず絶滅と進化を繰り返し、鬱になりそうですが地球も寿命を迎えてしまうってのが自然系の学問の答えですし。荒川上流域の秩父地方は日本の近代地学発祥の地と言う事で、地学大好きタモリさんの番組、タモリ倶楽部でもブラタモリでも取り上げられています。秩父地方は間違いなく日本有数のジオサイトなのですが、ユネスコの世界ジオパークに登録して無いですし、日本ジオパーク登録さえも要件にイチャモンを付けられる始末。観光地的かつ産業的利用に振れ過ぎてるんでしょうね。あの痛々しい姿の武甲山と正面から向き合って、答えを提示する必要がある様です。 It's a natural museum that focuses on the area of Saitama Prefecture. From the perspective of 4.6 billion years of earth history, the history of humankind is a momentary event, and the flora and fauna that exploded 500 million years ago are constantly extinct and evolving, and it seems to be depressed, but the earth has reached the end of its life. That is the answer to natural science. The Chichibu region in the upper reaches of the Arakawa River is the birthplace of modern earth science in Japan, and has been featured in Tamori's program, Tamori Club and Bura Tamori, who love earth science. The Chichibu region is undoubtedly one of Japan's leading geosites, but it has not been registered with the UNESCO Global Geopark, and even the registration of the Japan Geopark can be added to the requirements. I think it's too much for tourist destinations and industrial use. It seems that it is necessary to face that painful Mt. Buko from the front and present the answer.

There was also a showcase of a lot of the animals that roam or have once roamed the area. They have a lot of different fossils of exticlnct animals. I really enjoyed the megalodon. It's only 200 yen (2 bucks ish) if you are in Nagatoro River rafting and want to spend time learning about the area you've just rafted this is the place to go.
