The hipped roof is the oldest main hall in the Ji-shu temple, and along with the Sanmon, it was built in the early Muromachi period and is designated as a national important cultural property. Fortunately, the temple is free to visit and you can enter the temple for free (until 16:00). In the hall, you can see the characteristics of the Pure Land Buddhism system in which the outer camp surrounds the inner camp. The ceiling of the main hall is called the crying dragon ceiling, and when you clap your hands in the center between the boards, the sound echoes. With few tourists coming, you can hear the roaring voices of the elementary school students in the retro school building next door, and you can spend a relaxing time.
