山門の龍の頭と尻尾の別れた珍しい彫刻と金色に輝く如来様が、印象的でした。
 It was my second visit to Toshima, visiting eighty-eight places and Edo-Roku-Amida.
The rare sculpture of the head and tail of the dragon at the mountain gate and the shining golden Nyorai were impressive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 大きな道路に面している訳でもなく、地図で見つけなければ寄ることもなさそうなロケーションですが、開放的できれいに整えられた立派な寺院です。山門の彩色が鮮やかで、特に門の天井に描かれた天女の絵がよいです。門柱に絡みつく龍も見事です。
It's not a big road, it's a place that you can't stop by if you don't find it on a map, but it's an open and clean temple. The color of the mountain gate is vivid, especially the picture of the heavenly girl drawn on the ceiling of the gate. The dragon tangled around the gatepost is also wonderful.

Aug. 19, 2017 Amida Nyorai Roza Daibutsu, which shines in gold, is shining and beautiful. We got two kinds of red stamps of Toyoshima Yakuhakasho Sacred Site No. 67 and Edo Roku Amida No. 1!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 西福寺 へ初めて拝観させていただきました。言葉に出来ないので、観て感じてもらうのが良いかな。
お寺さんです。個々のお墓も在られます。単なる映えの為ではなく、節度や尊厳性を持って、何卒失礼無いように。お彼岸やお盆等を避けて、普段の日の方が邪魔にならないとも思います。
真言宗豊山派のお寺
｢西福寺は六阿弥陀第一番の寺として知られています。
江戸の人々は春秋のお彼岸に六阿弥陀詣を盛んに行いました。 花見と紅葉の時期を楽しむ目的もあったようです。 区内には西福寺のほか、無量寺が第三、與楽寺が第四番阿弥陀とされています。
境内には「よさこい節」に登場するお坊さんがかんざしをあげたという土佐のお馬さんの供養塔があります。また明治維新の際に起こった上野戦争で敗走中に王子付近で戦死した彰義隊士６名を供養したことが記されている六士銘記の碑があります。
山門内には昭和４６年のサイパン慰霊祭の折、参謀本部跡より収集された血染めの土砂と遺骨を納めた 「彩帆観音」が祀られています。
中庭に面して鎮座している極彩色の仏像は阿弥陀如来露座大仏です。｣
It was my first time to visit Saifukuji Temple. I can't put it into words, so it's best to see and feel it.

"Saifu-ji is known as the number one temple in Rokuamida.

At the time of the Saipan memorial service in 1971, "Saiho Kannon" is enshrined in the mountain gate, which contains blood-stained earth and sand and remains collected from the site of the General Staff Headquarters.
