ぬ	ぬっこたん on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ものすごい階段です。行くときは覚悟を。景色はそれほどよくありませんが、迫力はあります。旧北陸本線親不知トンネルは中を通れるので勇気のある方はどうぞ。本当に真っ暗ですw(一応明かりや説明書きはありますが) It's a tremendous staircase. Be prepared when you go. The scenery is not so good, but it is powerful. The former Hokuriku Main Line Oyashirazu Tunnel can be passed through, so if you have the courage, please. It's really pitch black w (although there are lights and explanations)
Y	Yoshihiko Sato on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 国道8号線沿いに駐車場があります。(約10台) 歩いて数分で展望台があり、ここの景観が良いです。さらに歩くと旧北陸本線のトンネルがありますが、急な階段を結構下りるので注意が必要です。平日に訪れたので人も少なく、静かな散策でした。 There is a parking lot along National Highway 8. (Approximately 10 units) There is an observatory within a few minutes' walk, and the scenery here is good. If you walk further, you will find a tunnel on the old Hokuriku Main Line, but be careful as you will go down a lot of steep stairs. Since I visited on weekdays, there were few people and it was a quiet walk.
ご	ごんぎつね on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 断崖絶壁の海が迫りくる、狭い海岸線を渡って行くしか交通手段がなかった昔。あまりにも過酷で命懸けな為に、親も子も自分の事で精一杯でお互いの心配などできなかった……。という事から親不知子不知(おやしらずこしらず)といわれているとか。展望台から見下ろすとまさに垂直の崖。波が岩に当たって砕け散る様は恐いぐらいに荒々しい。展望台から少し歩いて「親不知レンガトンネル」にも行ってみました。しっかり整備された階段があり、下へ１５メートル降りて行きます。トンネルの中を行く事ができましたが、かなり長く暗いので断念しました。登りの階段、きつかったです。２５０段まで数えましたが定かではないので、是非数えてみて下さい(笑) In the olden days, the only means of transportation was to cross the narrow coastline, where the sea of cliffs was approaching. It was so harsh and life-threatening that both parents and children couldn't worry about each other because they were all about themselves ... For that reason, it is said that Oyashirazuko is ignorant. Looking down from the observatory, it is a vertical cliff. The way the waves hit the rocks and shatter is horribly rough. I walked a little from the observatory and went to "Old Oyashirazu Brick Tunnel". There is a well-maintained staircase that goes down 15 meters. I was able to go through the tunnel, but I gave up because it was so long and dark. The climbing stairs were tight. I counted up to 250 steps, but I'm not sure, so please count it (laughs)

Not only the common people but also the Kaga domain is passing by taking turns. I went down to the bottom of the cliff, but even modern shoes have a bad footing and are dangerous. I was impressed that people in the old days could walk well with sandals. I once again felt the gratitude of National Highway No. 8 and the Hokuriku Expressway.

L	Lucy How on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Enroute from Ouzu to Yudanaka, we decided to take the coastal road partly to drive the Hokuriku Expressway that has an interesting history. We stopped at Itoigawa UNESCO global geopark where there is a viewpoint to see the cliffs at which the Northern Japanese Alps fall into the Sea of Japan and where the hokuriku expressway was built. The ancient Hokuriku Road was wedged in a small space between these cliffs and the sea, making for a perilous journey, especially when the waves would surge. The drive is scenic as one can see the steep cliff and the pounding waves below.
