山の神様で、木花咲耶姫や磐長姫のお父さんとされる神様ですが、元々は山の女神として父娘と同一の存在だったらしいです。地母神ということですね。
愛媛に総本社があります。

It is a god of the mountains and is said to be the father of Sakiya Kibana and Princess Bancho, but it seems that they were originally the same goddess as the goddess of the mountains. It's the Earth Mother God.
