天誅組伴林光平ら三人は神社境内にあった栄通寺にわらじを脱ぐ。
ちょうど神社で祭りがあったので参加する。
実はこのお祭り天誅組に徴発された若者の無事を祈願したもので村人はそのことを打ち明けることもできずもてなしたようです。
翌２１日ここを立つ

Tenchugumi Tomobayashi Mitsuhira takes off the straw at Eitsuji Temple in the shrine precincts.
There was a festival at the shrine, so I will participate.
Actually, it was a prayer for the safety of the young people who were recruited by this festival Tenchugumi, and the villagers seemed to be hospitable without being able to confess that.
