★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 正式には「白岩休憩施設」と言うようで、平川市（旧平賀町）と黒石市の境目に昭和63年に建設された展望所（展望台）です。観光リーフレットには、ここから「八甲田山が見える」と書いてありますが今は木々に隠れてまったく見えません。反対側に岩木山を見ることすら困難です。おそらく建設当時の昭和63年には見えていて、木々が成長した結果なのでしょう。
そしてこの展望台の最頂部に到達するにはハシゴを登らなければなりません。登りきって、なお何も見えない残念感に orz です。道行くトレッキングの方々は「ここは何も見えないから」と立ち寄ることさえしないことがあるようです。ただ、この周辺の”登山道”は比較的よく整備されていて、二人並んでおしゃべりしながら岩に躓くことなく安心して歩けることから、トレッキングの人気は高いようです。
Officially called "Shiraiwa Rest Facility", it is an observatory (observatory) built in 1988 on the border between Hirakawa City (former Hiraka Town) and Kuroishi City. The tourist leaflet says "I can see Mt. Hakkoda" from here, but now I can't see it at all because it's hidden behind trees. It is difficult to even see Mt. Iwaki on the other side. It was probably visible in 1988 at the time of construction, and is probably the result of the growth of the trees.
And you have to climb the ladder to reach the top of this observatory. It's a pity that I can't see anything after climbing up, orz. It seems that trekking people on the road may not even stop by saying, "I can't see anything here." However, the "mountain trails" around this area are relatively well maintained, and trekking seems to be very popular because two people can chat side by side and walk safely without stumbling on rocks.
