T	Toru on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 和田峠を越えてすぐ西、下諏訪宿側の「七曲り」と呼ばれる九十九折の道幅が狭い急坂です。それでも古いお地蔵様もあり、街道の面影が感じられます。旅人はさぞ苦労して越えたことでしょう。　この坂は、峠から地元の名主“勝五郎”さんが1855（安政2）年に設けた休憩用の石小屋跡まで続きます。 Just across the Wada Pass, just west, on the Shimosuwajuku side, is a narrow slope called the “Nanabori”, a narrow road with ninety-nine folds. け	けんけん on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 和田峠は旧中山道最大の難所です。日本橋をスタートして、京都三条大橋を目指しているのですが、今回は、長久保宿を8時に出て、下諏訪までの30キロの行程を計画しました。前半は割と緩やかな傾斜が続き、碓氷峠よりも楽なんじゃないのか？と思いつつ足を進めましたが、峠に向かってだんだん傾斜がきつくなり、さらに4月下旬にも関わらず雪が降ってきて、困難な道のりとなりました。しかし頑張って歩を進め、ようやく峠の最高地点に到着しました。高度計を見ると1500メートルを越えていました。達成感は格別ですね。最高地点からの下りは、登りより傾斜がきつかったと思います。降りていく途中の丸太のベンチで休憩していると、その丸太が腐りかけているから、新しいものに交換しようとしているという、お姉さん、お兄さんに会って、すこしお話しさせてもらいました。こういう方に支えられて、自分も旧街道歩きができるということを再認識しました。 Wada Pass is the biggest challenge on the old Nakayama Road. While taking a break on the bench of the log on the way down, I saw my sister and brother that I was going to exchange it for a new one because the log was rotten, and I talked a little. Supported by these people, I realized again that I could walk on the old highway.
