You can visit for free. Although it is right next to the former Kaichi School, which is a national treasure, it is a little disappointing because not many people visit it. I think it would be good if it could be integrated with Kaichi School.

J	Jeremy Odden on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An interesting look at Western architecture in Japan at the time, however this exhibit is small, unmanned, and fairly sparse. There's an average of one piece of furniture for every room in the building.
A	Andrey Zhiglo on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not that many items inside. Nice Western architecture. I did not see a single person during my visit (February, right before the closing time). There were some brochures/visitor booklets for places around Matsumoto on the first floor by the entrance.
M	Michael Douglas on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The house is barely furnished, but it's interesting to see a genuine 19th century home. Admission is free and it's not far from the castle. It's next door to the Kaichi School. It's worth a quick walk-through to get a sense of a real historical home.
