★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ちょうど来週の萬燈みたま祭の準備をされているところでした。提灯がズラリと飾られていて、なかなかの景観でした。
先に、御朱印をお願いし、参拝。拝殿も立派でした。
 I was just getting ready for next week's Kamitama Festival. The lanterns were decorated with slurries and it was quite a landscape.
First, ask for a red stamp and visit. The worship hall was fine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 県道東山線から入ると暫く真っ直ぐ進みますが、神社の手前右側に宇垣纏海軍中将の碑があります。特攻隊最後の指揮官として、玉音放送を拝聴した後、送り出した特攻兵達のもとへ、自責の念から最後の特攻をされたことで知られています。
この宇垣纏海軍中将には様々な賛否がありますが、この国と今の平和の礎となられた英霊には違いなく、護国神社ご参拝の折りには是非手を合わせて頂きたいと願います。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 境内は綺麗に整備清掃されていました。大きな備前焼の狛犬が印象に残ります。御朱印を受ける際には参拝前に社務所にお願いしましょう。
The precincts were neatly maintained and cleaned. A big Bizen-yaki samurai dog leaves an impression. When you receive the red stamp, please ask the office before visiting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 岡山の市街地から東にあるく操山（みさおやま）の中腹にある、護国神社です。
戊辰戦争の死者を祀ったのが始まりで、その後の戦死者の鎮魂の場所となっています。
神社までの参道は急に山深い雰囲気になり、厳かな気分になるのですが、残念ながら入り口に野球場があり、応援の声がうるさく、台無しな感じになります。球場、どっかに移設できないんですかね？
Gokoku Shrine is located on the hillside of Misaoyama, east of the city of Okayama.
It started with worshiping the dead of the Boshin War, and has become a place for requiescats of the dead after that.
The approach to the shrine suddenly becomes a deep mountain atmosphere, and I feel solemn, but unfortunately there is a baseball field at the entrance, and the cheering voice is noisy and it feels ruined. Isn't it possible to relocate the stadium somewhere?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ チャギントンが停車する駅の近くにひっそりと、でも四季を十分に感じられる場所に建立されてます。
神社手前には野球場が2つ、相撲ができる場所が1つあります。
神社の両隣からはハイキングの入り口があり日曜日の朝にはハイキングに行かれる登山者が多くみられます。
11月は紅葉がいい色合いになってて神社をより引き立ててます。
境内には無料駐車場もあり、木陰もあることから昼寝に来てる車が沢山います。
県道から少しだけ奥まった場所なのに人工物の音はかなり抑えられてて、自然に触れたい時にはお手軽なポイントだと思います。

There is a free parking lot in the precincts, and there are many cars coming to take a nap because there is a shade of trees.
Even though it is a little deeper than the prefectural road, the sound of artifacts is suppressed considerably, so I think it is an easy point when you want to touch nature.
