神社の奥に三角点があります。また、キャンプ場が隣接していてキャンプファイャー場が隣にあります。
麓から登るにはなかなかの体力が必要です。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 大川神社は讃岐、阿波の県境に聳える香川県下第ニの高峰大川山の頂上に鎮座するお社です。社伝によると文武天皇の御代に役小角が諸国を巡歴してこの大川山頂し達した時、一人の老翁が忽然と現れ「我こそは大川祇神なり、常にこの山を逍遥し国内の諸山をまわりこれを守る、子わがの為に祠を建てよ」と云いました。神の御告げを受け小角は祠を建てこの神を祀った。ついで木花咲取姫命を合わせて祀り大川大権現てしょうした。
天武天皇の御代、天平四年（732年）国内では大旱魃がおき五穀が実らず時の国司は大川神社に奉幣して雨を祈ると、忽ち一天俄にかき曇り大雨が振りました。それより祈雨の神として歴代の国主の祟敬厚く讃岐阿波はもとより四国の人々は雨乞いの神として深く尊祟し、大旱魃の時は阿讃両国民衆は社の前に集まり鐘鼓を打ち鳴らし雨を祈ったと云う。
この風習が現在も残り旧暦六月十四日に氏子の人々が社前に念仏踊りを奉納しています。
当社は安産の神としても信仰されて高松藩主松平家も特使を派遣して安産の祈願を行っていました。
明治に入り郷社に列せられました。

As a god of prayer and rain, the people of Shikoku, as well as Sanuki Awa, who are the gods of successive lords, are deeply revered as the god of rain. It is said that he prayed for the rain.
This custom still remains, and on June 14th of the lunar calendar, the people of the parishioners are dedicating a Nenbutsu odor in front of the company.
Our company is also worshiped as a god of safe delivery, and the Matsudaira clan, the lord of the Takamatsu domain, also dispatched a special envoy to pray for safe delivery.

御祭神は大山津見神と木花之佐久夜毘売命です。
聖武天皇の御代に旱魃がおこり、時の国司がこの神社に祈願をすると、たちまち大雨が降り旱魃は解消した、という話が残っていて、祈雨の神様として知られているそうです。
境内には様々な神社が勧請され、小さな祠がそこかしこにあります。
中でも特に目をひいたのは龍王宮。
大川神社裏手に位置していて、小さな社殿が建っています。
さすが雨乞いの神様、水の神様です。
社殿軒先にある「龍」。
自然木ですが、自然の造形には感服します。
