walk from this shrine to jujo shopping district was most memorable moment of my trip Old buildings but well maintained living town feels so relaxed and super quit with nature. Shrine itself have unique moss smell and atmosphere too.

Nice little Inari Shrine. It has a different feel than most shrines because of the pre-school right down the hill. The sounds of children mix with the wind and birds. Well worth the quiet walk from Oji station. Kita City has a nice neighborhood feel.

Wonderful selection for those interested in studying the variation of kitsune statues. There are several pairs, each in different style, age and expression. Especially one pair is very unique and full of artistic expression. Well preserved old ones are protected by cages and some guardians have their heads or tails restored in rough concrete. The first pair guarding the main gate wore masks to remind people to do the same.

A rather big shrine with a kindergarten on it's terrirory. You can sometimes see children helping at work as miko. There are a few smaller shrines at the back part of the territory, one of them has a big stone. You can make a wish and inagine the stone's weight, then lift it. If the stone is lighter than you thought, your wish will come true.

Large fox shrine in oji. End of annual New year's kitsune parade. Definitely recommend as a new year excursion. The beginning of the parade is a smaller shrine across the train tracks. There you can find fox souvenir and masks for the occasion.

It was a rainy day, but it puts some specific ambiance in this Shrine. A nice place with specific energy. It gives you smile and you are happy to find it, May the fox be with you. ?

A good shrine to visit. It has a long history. This shrine is famous for a forktale or one of the stories in Rakugo, traditional Japanese comic story telling. This shrine was painted in some Ukiyoe. On the New Year's Eve foxes gather to this shrine with mysterious fire. Hiroshige Utagawa painted this story on his Ukiyoe. So they have an walking-in-a-line event after this on New Year's Eve.
