★ ★ ★ ★ ★ おそらくこちらが日本最北端の万葉歌碑を有する神社であろうかと思います。しかも多複数の歌碑と句碑を備えられた延喜式内社です。
奈良時代、当時の聖武天皇が東大寺大仏建立の折、全国的な塗金材不足に悩まれていらっしゃいましたが、この地から900両（13㌕）という大量の砂金が献上されました。
現在、黄金山産金遺跡は史跡公園として整備され、神社の鎮座を褒めたたえるかのように種々の歌碑が設置されています。

こちらの神社の御朱印はたいそう畏れおおいもので、隣接の天平ロマン館でお願いすることになります。
