Was given a cast but had to go to another doctor to remake my cast as the fiberglass cast was so poorly constructed and unpadded it had rubbed the skin behind it raw causing great pain and risking infection. I'm not sure if this is normal but this hospital is very rehabilitation-oriented so expect the doctor to insist on daily rehabilitation for even the most minor injuries. The rehabilitation focuses mainly on massage and can seem haphazard and questionable. This time around with a cast on, the rehab was limited to Infrared light and electric massage. When I complained that it seemed unnecessary and expressed my will to not come daily as I am a working adult the doctor made me do an hour and a half of leg lifts with my cast on. Which seemed even more confusing. My second opinion doctor gave me a few exercises I can do throughout the day at home and said that was enough rehab. The facilities are rundown and sometimes plain dirty. For example, I have seen blood-stained bandages etc. from previous patients laying around. Despite not having many patients, there seems to be a large amount of staff; some with physical and developmental disabilities which seem at odds with the healthcare environment. Lastly, it was mentioned in a previous review and an internet search turned up news articles stating that the doctor had been previously arrested for insurance fraud. This is telling considering the difference in cost between the two doctors, despite the second doctor removing and replacing the cast, new X-rays, and ultrasound, which was not done at the previous doctor. The suspicious (scam-like) nature of their care was underlined by the fact that the cast was sparsely padded and the doctor's insistence on daily rehab.
