It takes about 20 minutes from the tourist information center of Komoro Station by rental cycle (more than 10 cars, there seems to be no bus, so it is recommended for people who go by car other than car. 3 hours 1000 yen, electric bicycle). I got a route explanation and a map from the tourist information center. (It seems that you should not go by the route of the map application.) From the parking lot, climb a decent cliff road for about 15 minutes on foot. Since it is located on the mountain side of the cliff road, only those who climb can see this Kannon-do. It seems slippery in the rain, so I think you should avoid it. It looks like a power spot, and you can get a red stamp.

A vermilion-painted stage with outstanding impact, which is also published in the tourist information of Komoro City. It's similar to "Noh stage in Kiyomizu-dera, Kyoto", but why did you bother to build it on the cliffside? It is a style called "hanging structure" or "cliff structure" and is common to both "shrines and temples". The meaning of building on a mountaintop or cliff that is difficult to build is that the building itself is considered to be training. (Miya carpenter isn't the only one) From there you can climb steeper mountains or sing in cold waterfalls. It seems unlikely that a "shugendo" would be possible without a Superman. "Komoro Nunobiki Kannon / Kannon-do Palace" is located beyond the guardian dogs from the precincts of "Nunobikiyama Shakusonji". The stage of "Kakezukuri" overlooking the valley is in front of the Kannon-do Palace dug in the cave of the cliff, and the "pedestal" that supports the stage is wonderful. When I went around the "Kannon-do Palace", there was an exit leading to the outside in the darkness, and I climbed the stone steps carved on the rock surface to the observatory on the summit, but it is currently closed due to collapse. (It was originally a mountain for training, so it was quite dangerous) Looking down from the stage, you can hear a squeaking noise from your feet weighing 100 kg. (Please avoid accidents at your own risk.) It will be costly because it will be inspected regularly and renovation work will be required. This time I have spurred on the offer. (Because I used all my coins by the time I got here) I prayed for "Kannon-sama" with both hands together. "Disappearance of plague"

I will climb the mountain quite a bit from the parking lot. But when I look up, I'm impressed. I was very happy because I wanted to go

Speaking of Nunobiki Kannon, it is a legendary place where "a cow pulls you to visit Zenkoji Temple". The Kannon-do is built as if it were stuck on a cliff. I was surprised that it was well made in such a place. The scenery from here is very nice, so the autumn leaves look beautiful. I think it's good to visit once.

It isn't easy to get to unless you have a car, but is well worth the effort! From the car park it is a 25 minute easy climb (sorry, hike), to the Buddhist temple, then just a few extra steps up to Nunobiki Kannon itself. It is quite a mysterious place, reached along a small ravine of caves alongside the path. The temple at the top of the path juts out from the surrounding rockface and I was a bit too scared to look over the edge. Be my guest to. It is a great small place to visit and take in the views. There are a lot of strange figures, stories, and things to see there. Also, quite dark wooden prayer tablets if you can get someone to understand the Japanese. Gave my friend the creeps....

Just an amazing and as yet un-touristy place with a deep history of spiritual significance. There's a temple at the top of a ravine that takes about 20-30 min to climb past Buddhist statues, giant rocks and trees, and a small waterfall. The Kannon hall of the temple is built into the side of a sheer cliff and offers an amazing view. There's a strange legend that explains the name of the place, but on a clear day when the Asama volcano is visible through the cleft of the ravine you realize this must have been a religious destination from centuries before Buddhism came to Japan. Highly recommended if you're in the area, but I hope visitors respect the spiritual atmosphere. We went on a Sunday morning around 9 a.m. and there was only a handful of other people -- for most of the climb we were alone.
