★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 白根神社の本殿向かって右奥に「沼神社」と言われる社があります。
明治六年（1873）に旧六合村の沼尾から移って来ました。沼尾は冬住の里で草津との交流が盛んな地域でした。
沼神社は芳ヶ平にあった小蓋明神の里宮とも考えられていますがはっきりしたことは分かっていません。
芳ヶ平の湿地帯の中に浮島があり、その中の一つが小さなお椀のふたを伏せたような形をしていて、それが小蓋明神として信仰されていました。
沼神社、芳ヶ平など、水に関連している神様ということは言えるかもしれません。

There is a shrine called "Numa Shrine" in the back right of the main shrine of Shirane Shrine.
In 1873, I moved from Numao, the former village of Rokugo. Numao was a winter residence, and it was an area where interaction with Kusatsu was active.
Numa Shrine is also considered to be the shrine of the small lid Myojin in Yoshigadaira, but it is unknown.
There was a floating island in the wetlands of Hokadaira, and one of them had the shape of a small bowl with the lid closed down, and it was worshiped as the small lid Myojin.
It may be said that it is a god related to water, such as Numa Shrine and Yoshigadaira.
